Frequently asked questions

  1. I've used Spanish Games fine but now the site isn't working properly. What has happened?
We are frequently updating our websites to add new resources and make them load quicker. Sometimes browsers will hold on to old content rather than downloading the new material. This leads to a mix of old and new files in the browser which can break the website. That store of files is called the "browser cache".

If the site doesn't seem to be working right, the first thing you should try is to "clear your cache" - which means delete the old files and force the browser to fetch the latest ones - this solves 90% of issues (with most websites, not just ours). There is lots of information on how to clear the cache if you search for "clear cache " + your browser name.

If you need more help, or that doesn't solve your problem, contact us and we will get it sorted!

  7. How do the high score leaderboards work?
You can choose to use or switch off the high score leaderboards for Spanish Games using the tick box in the settings panel accessed by clicking on the flags at top right. With the box ticked (default) some games - Sow grow, The frog flies, Pong and Beetle bee - offer to save scores that are in the top 10 for that game-topic pair.

Players are allowed to record up to 3 entries for any game-topic pair.

If there are scores saved for a particular game-topic pair, a gold star on a brown background will appear on the game introduction page. Clicking on the star will reveal the current high scores.

When a player saves a high score, only the given name, score, date and, if selected, the country code are saved to the database. All scores for all games are deleted each year at the end of August.
